LAG45 - 2015 Digital Engine Management

This increasingly customised V12 XJS has visited us several times, and is now in for our Digital Engine Management system which will release more power and importantly we can optimise the fuelling and ignition for various other modifications such as cold air inlets. Normally, modifying these engines can have little or no effect unless the fuelling and ignition is re-mappable which is not really possible other than by specialists with knowledge of the original firmware-based map and the ability to re-blow vintage eproms. Our modern Omex system however allows full re-mapping. This car was dyno-tested before modification at just over 300bhp - we await the completion of the installation before checking on the gains we've made. Another advantage of modern engine management is the much increased reliability - the old Lucas system using the AB14 ignition amplifier being very prone to failure when hot.
