UHP661R - XJV126L 1976 Series 2 coupé

This was an unusual project. The client wanted to radically modernise the 5.3 V12 coupé, with a late 6 litre V12 and 4 speed auto gearbox, along with many custom-designed and built electronic enhancements from gearbox ECU to touchscreen dash display. But to get to the point of doing the nice things, we had to wade through a long list of rust problems as is very common for 1970s Jaguars. The client supplied an X305 (6 litre V12 X300) to provide the engine and gearbox, but this was just too difficult to get going due to its ECU needing to talk to many other units that weren't there. So we then agreed to fit a 6 litre engine from a late XJS which was rather more forgiving. We got all this working but by the then the budget dried up and the 2008 recession really hit, so the project was returned to the customer.
